Last Post B&B, which opened for business in January 2010, is in Strathmore
Park on the outskirts of Dundee, KZN 'The Gateway to The Battlefields'.
Strathmore Park is a quiet suburb of Dundee that is close to all the local
shops, restaurants, banking facilities etc in the town, which is located a
few minutes drive away. 
Dundee is conveniently situated between Johannesburg & Durban and close to The Drakensburg Mountains. Road links are excellent to all parts of South Africa.
In close proximity to Dundee & readily accessible, are dozens of battlefield sites from The Anglo Zulu War (Rourke's Drift, Isandlwana, Kambula etc) The Anglo Boer Wars (Talana Hill, Seige of Ladysmith, Spion Kop, Majuba etc) & Boer/Zulu conflicts (Blood River, Bloukrans etc). In addition nearby there are also a number of quality game reserves (including 'Big Five'), excellent fishing, bird watching, cycle routes, canoeing, bowls etc. There are also a number of excellent 18 hole golf courses in the area, including Dundee GC which is less than 5 minutes drive from Last Post B&B
Dundee
Dundee is an historic town that is conveniently located in Northern Kwa Zulu Natal. It has good road links to the KZN coastal resorts, the Drakensburg Mountains, Mpumalanga (where there are numerous game reserves including the world renowned Kruger Park) & Johannesburg.
Dundee town has a number of major supermarkets, retail outlets, cafes & all major banks. In the town & surrounding areas there are a number of excellent restaurants including some located on game parks which offer a wonderful eating experience.
The first engagement of the 2nd Boer War occurred @ Talana Hill which is to be found on the outskirts of Dundee. At the battle site is the excellent Talana Museum with craft & souvenir shops on site.
Accomodation
The B&B accommodation consists of three units, all of which are en suite, that are located separate from the main house. Two of the units (Kudu & Buffalo) are under a thatched roof.
Kudu has a king sized bed - which can be converted to twins & Buffalo has twin beds. The beds in Kudu & Buffalo are all extra length.
The
third guest unit (Garden Room) houses a double bed. All units are equipped
with high quality beds & bedding to ensure an exceptional nights sleep.
Every room is equipped with
a flat screen television,
complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, hair
dryer, digital safe, cooling fan & radio. During winter the rooms are also
provided with heaters & electric blankets.
Adjacent to the guest accommodation is an entertainment area which includes a swimming pool & thatched lapha. The lapha houses braai (barbecue) facilities, a fridge, comfortable seating & full DSTV satellite television.
There is ample secure parking located within the property, access to which is via electric gates with a controller provided to guests to allow convenient entry & exit.
On site there is Internet access, including Skype, available for guest use.
Rates
Standard Unit (Garden Room):
ZAR250 per person per night double occupancy
ZAR350 per person per night single occupancy.
Luxury Unit: (Kudu & Buffalo):
ZAR300 per person per night double occupancy.
ZAR400 per person per night single occupancy.
The above rates include an excellent breakfast with an extensive array of choice from a health option of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc through to a full English. Much of the food is home made with all produce obtained locally and where possible free range. breakfast menu
Evening meals & packed lunches are available as an optional extra by prior arrangement.
